Motor Vehicle Thefts, Thefts, Burglary & Bogus Callers – Kenilworth

Kenilworth residents are advised to increase their vigilance and report anything they see that is suspicious to 101 and if they believe a crime is taking place then please ring 999. This advice is given as there has been an increase in criminal activity in and around Kenilworth over the past few days as detailed below.

General advice is offered which is; to ensure your home and outbuildings are secure, your motor vehicle is locked and there are no valuables left inside, remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to the police immediately.

 

Bogus Callers

Homeowners are advised not open doors to strangers or pay people who attend you address claiming that they have been asked to attend to repair the roof or some other job and now require a call out fee. These individuals are bogus. Please do not open the door to them or if you have opened the door unsuspectingly then tell them you are not paying and shut the door. Please then call the police immediately. Several incidents as described has taken place in the Windy Arbour, Keeling Road and Dencer Drive areas of the town in the past few days.

Theft

Please be aware that between 0130hrs and 0730hrs on Saturday 31 August 2024 offender/s have gained entry to a garage at Stoneleigh Road, Kenilworth and stolen a pedal cycle.

Theft

Please be aware that between 1400hrs on Wednesday 4 September and 1400hrs on Thursday 5 September 2024 offender/s have removed and stolen several stone garden ornaments from a property at Hibberd Court, off Southbank Road, Kenilworth.

Motor Vehicle Theft x 2

Please be aware that from 0000hrs to 2359hrs on Wednesday 4 September 2024 offenders have stolen two motor vehicles from a private drive on Hodgetts Lane, Burton Green, Kenilworth. The vehicles that have been stolen are a green Range Rover Vogue and a blue VW Golf convertible. As both vehicles were not in working order trailers or recovery vehicles must have been used to steal the vehicles. Did you notice anything in this area last Wednesday (4 September 2024?)

Theft

 Please be aware that between 1200hrs and 1300hrs on Thursday 5 September 2024 offender/s have stolen a set of ladders belonging to a engineer who was working at premises at Talisman Square, Kenilworth

Burglary

 Please be aware that between 2045hrs and 2100hrs on Thursday 5 September 2024 offender/s have forced entry to an industrial unit at Princes Drive Industrial Estate, Coventry Road, Kenilworth. An untidy search was made of the premises by the offender/s but the alarm activated and the offender/s made off.
