Valuables left in Vehicles Stolen – Kenilworth

Warwickshire Police are advising people not to leave valuable items such as purses, bank cards, handbags, Sat Nav devices and laptops in motor vehicles. The advice is as a result of two incidents over the past 24 hours where vehicles have had their windows smashed to enable offenders to gain access to valuable items of property

Please be aware that between 11.30hrs and 11.50hrs on Wednesday 24 June 2020 a vehicle parked at The Brays Car Park, Castle Road, Kenilworth had its rear window smashed by two offenders wearing high visibility clothing. The offenders who were described as being white males, one slightly tanned and one with short hair appeared to prented they were parking attendants.

Once the window was smashed the offenders stole a handbag that had been left in the vehicle and made off in blue coloured saloon.

Please be aware that around 1940hrs on Wednesday 24 June 2020 offenders have smashed the passenger side window of a white Peugeot Partner van that was parked at Kenilworth Wardens Cricket Club, Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth. A wallet containing bank cards that had been left in the vehicle was stolen. The offenders were are believed to have made off in a grey mini convertible saloon.

Road Bike Stolen – Kenilworth

Please be aware that between 0800hrs and 1600hrs on Tuesday 23 June 2020 an insecure blue coloured ‘TREK’ Road Bicycle with a Tippex marking on the frame was stolen from Albion Street, Kenilworth. There are no further details available.

Motorhome Thieves Foiled – Kenilworth

Swift action by a householder in the early hours of Monday 22 June 2020, reporting the theft of a Motorhome from their drive at Cromwell Lane, Burton Green, Kenilworth led to both Warwickshire & West Midlands Police responding and recovering the Motorhome in just over an hour from when it was stolen.

Although the offenders made off the Motorhome was abandoned in Coventry as police pursued and successfully located it. The incident shows how vigilance, good vehicle security measures and police response can all play a part to limit or deter crime.

The incident reinforces the need for all householders to be vigilant at all times and make sure vehicles and property is also safe and secure.

Burnt Out Car – Castle Farm

Warwickshire Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a Renault Clio, possibly being followed by a second vehicle of unknown make, being driven in Kenilworth between 23.30hrs and 23.59hrs on Friday 19 June 2020.  It is believed that the vehicle was driven onto the recreation field at Castle Farm at around midnight where it was then set on fire before offenders made off, possibly in an accompanying vehicle.

Four bicycles stolen from outbuilding – Kenilworth

Please be aware that between 2200hrs on Tuesday 16 June and 0800hrs Wednesday 17 June 2020 offenders have broken into a garden outbuilding at Crackley Crescent, (off Coventry Road) Kenilworth.

The offenders cut off a padlock on the gate at the side of the property and then forced their way into the outbuilding. Four bicycles that were secured with a padlock and steel cable were stolen. The lock was forced and cable cut.

The four bicycles stolen are described as:

An extra large frame “Giant” Defy road bike with a black frame with fluorescent green decals and 22 gears.

An extra large frame “Cannondale” Trigger mountain bike light blue in colour with 27 gears

A large “Caliba” Bossnut mountain bike with an orange frame and 11 gears

A medium size “Trek” Fuel EX7 mountain bike with a silver frame and 27 gears
