Please be aware that between 2130hrs on Tuesday 20 June and 0730hrs on Wednesday 21 June 2023 at Beechwood Croft, Kenilworth offenders have cut out and stolen the driver’s side wing mirror of a 22 plate Land Rover Defender, leaving exposed wires and causing damage.

Thefts from Motor Vehicles – Kenilworth

Please be aware that between 2200hrs on Sunday 18 June and 0800hrs on Monday 19 June 2023 at Warwick Road, Kenilworth offenders have cut out and stolen the driver’s side wing mirror of a 23 plate Land Rover Defender, leaving exposed wires and causing damage.

Vehicle Theft – Kenilworth

Please be aware that between 1800hrs on Saturday 17 June and 0500hrs on Sunday 18 June 2023 offenders have stolen a dark blue Range Rover Evoque LD motor vehicle from a private drive at a property on Cromwell Lane, Burton Green, Kenilworth.

The vehicle was stolen without keys indicating that this theft may have been committed using a keyless interception device that contacts the vehicle keys inside the property and mirrors the signal to enable access to the vehicle.

Drivers of keyless entry system vehicles are strongly advised to use an additional steering lock and to turn off the key signal or if they do not have that facility store keys in a “faraday cage” (metal box) to make it difficult for the keys signal to be intercepted.

Arson – Abbey Fields, Kenilworth

Warwickshire Police are asking anyone to get into contact with them regarding an arson attack on a protected monument at Abbey Fields, Kenilworth between 1815hrs and 1850hrs on Tuesday 13 June 2023.

Offender/s lit a jerry can full of petrol and placed the can onto the wall of a protected monument causing damage through scorching. Apart from the arson and criminal damage aspects of this activity the danger to life posed by a full can of petrol being set fire is severe and could have serious and even tragic consequences.

Distraction Theft – Kenilworth

Kenilworth shoppers and residents are advised to be extra vigilant when using their motor vehicles and in particular returning to their vehicles when parked. The advice comes after a female vehicle owner returned to her motor vehicle just after midday on Wednesday 14 June 2023 which was parked in a supermarket car park at Bertie Road, Kenilworth.

After getting in the vehicle and placing her smartphone and handbag on the passenger seat in preparation to drive away she was approached by an unknown male suspect who suggested to her that he had witnessed youths damaging the rear of her vehicle.

The owner got out of the vehicle and went to the rear of car where the unknown suspect kept on about the damage although there was nothing visible. Eventually the owner got back in her vehicle and drove home. She discovered that her smartphone, together with several bank cards, driving licence and bus pass had been stolen from her handbag.
