A burglary has taken place in Queens Road, Kenilworth.

At some point between 3 and 11.30pm on 3 March, offenders broke into a home in Queens Road, Kenilworth through a side kitchen window.

Once inside the house, the offenders stole several items including a laptop computer.

The force being used by criminals in Kenilworth has continued with two crimes being reported over the weekend in Kenilworth. At one address burglars wrenched a burglar alarm off the wall and despite the alarm continuing to sound entered the property ransacking rooms and taking several items of property.

The other crime involved power tools being stolen from a van. Both these events have heightened concern about burglaries in and around the town. While many residents have taken several steps to deter criminals there is mounting anxiety that a lack of police presence and an associated low likelihhood of being caught is leading to a more brazen attitude amongst offenders.

Leamington Road, Kenilworth

Between 10am and 4.30pm on 17 February, offenders broke into a home in Leamington Road, Kenilworth and activated the intruder alarm. The offenders pulled the alarm off the wall of the house and entered the premises but the alarm continued to sound. Once inside the house, the offenders carried out a very messy search before making off with several items. This is Incident 262 of 17 February 2018

Rouncil  Lane, Kenilworth

During the night of 16 into 17 February, offenders broke into a Citroen van, parked in a layby outside a home in Rouncil Lane, Kenilworth by smashing a small window and forcing open the rear doors. Chain saws, boots and drills were stolen from inside. This is Incident 102 of 17 February 2018

Residents are reminded that the need for vigilance continues as a further burglary took place on 15 February at a home on Cromwell Lane, Burton Green.

Between 1pm and 6.45pm on 15 February, offenders broke into a home in Cromwell Lane, Burton Green by smashing through rear bi-folding doors.

Once inside the house, the offenders carried out an untidy search of the upstairs before making off empty handed.

KENILWORTH householders have been warned that burglars are continuing to prowl around the town looking for opportunities to enter homes, take property and cause significant, and in some cases, wanton damage to property.

The latest two events reinforce the need for continued and heightened vigilance and prompt reporting to the police of anything suspicious.

Red Lane, Burton Green, Kenilworth

At 7.30pm on 9 February 2018, the resident of a home in Red Lane, Burton Green returned home and everything seemed normal. The resident then heard a loud bang and went upstairs to discover that all bedroom drawers and cabinets had been opened and searched and that the window had been smashed.

The resident believes that the loud bang was the offender making their escape. It is not clear exactly what was stolen. This is Incident 361 of 9 February 2018.

Station Road, Kenilworth

Between 1pm on 6 February and 1.30pm on 11 February 2018 offenders smashed the rear door of a home in Station Road, Kenilworth and entered the property. Once inside, the offenders carried out a search but it is not known exactly what was stolen. This is Incident 191 of 11 February 2018.

Notification of two more crimes reported for Kenilworth that relate to the first few days of February have just come through. One involves an attempted burglary and the other the theft of ladders from a rear garden.

These further events demonstrate the need for Kenilworth residents to remain vigilant and report anything or anyone that appears to be suspicious.

Crackley Hill, Kenilworth

At some point during the afternoon of 1 February, offenders attempted to break into a home in Crackley Hill, Kenilworth causing damage to the door and door frame.  The offenders failed to get into the house and nothing was stolen. This is Incident 216 of 1 February 2018

Lockhart Close, Kenilworth

Between 10pm on 2 February and 5pm on 3 February, offenders stole a set of metal folding ladders from the rear garden of a home in Lockhart Close, Kenilworth. This is Incident 299 of 3 February 2018
