Residents across Kenilworth are being warned to keep a sharp lookout for suspicious activity around parked vehicles after a Ford Transit van was broken into in Henry Street on the night of 11 December. Power tools were taken.

This most recent event highlights the need to remain vigilant and although the event involved a van and therefore valuable items could not be seen it serves as a reminder NOT to leave property in vehicles on show.

Drivers of vans and light commercial vehicles are advised to ensure there vehicle is adequately alarmed and wherever possible parked in a well lit area and in a way that access to rear doors is difficult or impossible.

 

Anyone that may have seen suspicisous activity in Henry Street on Sunday evening 11 December 2016 or who may have information about this event are asked to contact Warwickshire Police on 101.

CROWN WATCH are appealing to Kenilworth residents to remain vigilent at all times and to check their property is secure, especially in warm weather when understandably windows are opened for ventilation.

Unfamiliar people loitering around properties, unusual noise from activity at the rear of properties when you believe the householder is out or a vehicle repeatedly touring around the same area are all things residents are reminded to be aware of. Please, if you suspect somethign is not right then call the police without delay.

Quick thinking and communication with the police raises the potential for offenders to be caught. The more that happens in Kenilworth the less criminals will choose our town as a target because of the greater propensity of getting caught.

Please be aware that in the last few days the following incidents have occurred at homes in Kenilworth, Warwickshire:

Lower Ladyes Hill, Kenilworth

During the night of 20 into 21 July 2016, offenders entered a home in Lower Ladyes Hill, Kenilworth and stole two sets of vehicle keys from the hallway. The offenders then used the keys to steal two vehicles from the driveway.                                                                   Incident 124 of 21 July 2016 refers.

Dudley Road, Kenilworth

At some point before 3.30pm on 21 July 2016, offenders entered a home in Dudley Road, Kenilworth and stole an iPad from an upstairs bedroom.                                                    Incident 234 of 21 July 2016 refers.

Ferndale Drive, Kenilworth

At some point between 18 and 21 July, offenders removed a small window from its frame at the front of a home in Ferndale Drive, Kenilworth. The offenders are not believed to have entered the house and nothing was stolen.                                                                               Incident 241 of 21 July refers.

Please remain alert, on the lookout for suspicious persons, vehicles or activity around your own or neighbouring homes and please report anything of concern, to Police, on 101. If you believe a crime is being committed then dial 999.

Crown Watch is advising Kenilworth residents to exercise vigilance at all times, especially throughout the day. The advice comes as a burglary took place in the middle of the day.

Between 11.45am and 2.20pm on 20 June 2016, offenders entered the rear garden of a home in Finham Road, Kenilworth by lifting a fencing panel.

They then entered the house through the rear door. Once inside, the offenders carried out a search before making off with numerous items, including an Xbox

Can you help Warwickshire Police to find Phillip Glover?

Phillip Glover, aged 61, was last seen at his home on Albion Street, Kenilworth, this morning (Friday 27 May).

Phillip is white, 5 foot 7 inches tall, with shaven brown hair. He was last seen wearing a grey jacket and green jumper and carrying a bag.

Phillip sometimes walks the Greenway between Kenilworth and Coventry so please keep a look out for him if you are using this route.

Warwickshire Police have become aware of a new type of telephone fraud that has occurred in the past week. Inspector Daf Goddard is urging everyone to be aware of this new type of fraud and to make sure that this warning is promptly shared as much and as widely with friends, neighbours and relatives.

Fraudsters are cold-calling elderly people purporting to be from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC). They are requesting the transfer of funds for overdue taxes and making threats of arrest if people do not comply.

Warwickshire Police would urge people to end any telephone conversations of this nature immediately and report the incident by calling 101 or Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.

HMRC do NOT telephone individuals demanding payment of taxes nor do they ask for immediate transfer of monies from from taxpayers bank accounts by telephone. No matter how plausible any such telephone call maybe DO NOT provide any personal details or transfer monies.

Replace the receiver and when you come to use the telephone again make sure the line has cleared and there is a dialling tone , if you do not do so then the fraudsters could still be on the line and pretend to be who you think you are telephoning.
