KENILWORTH residents are being advised to heighten their vigilance and secure their properties as much as possible to deter entry as two more crimes have taken place across the town in the last couple of days.
Burglary – Mortimer Road, Kenilworth – Incident 232 of 26 April 2017
Between 0830hrs and 15.40hrs on 26 April, offenders entered the rear garden of a home in Mortimer Road, Kenilworth and then smashed the glass in the rear conservatory door.
Once inside, the offenders smashed the glass in the internal patio door and entered the house to carry out a search of the bedrooms. The offenders made off through the front door with a jewellery box and its contents along with a quantity of cash and an Xbox 1 and accessories.
Burglary & Aggravated Vehicle Taking – Herbert Bond Drive, Kenilworth – Incident 24 of 24 April 2017
At just before 0400hrs on 27 April 2017, a group of 3 to 4 males threw a brick through a ground floor window at a home in Herbert Bond Drive (near Castle Green end of Clinton Lane), Kenilworth. The residents were at home at the time.
The offenders were dressed in tracksuits, had balaclavas covering their faces and carried a weapon. The went into the kitchen and demanded the keys to an Audi vehicle. The resident handed over the keys and the offenders left the property and drove off in the Audi. No one was hurt in the incident.
