Thefts from Motor Vehicles – Kenilworth

Please be aware that between 2200hrs on Friday 30 August and 0850hrs on Saturday 31 August 2024 offender/s have smashed the passenger door window and drivers side quarter light window on a Vauxhall Agila motor vehicle that was situated on a private driveway to a property at Priory Road, Kenilworth. Entry was gained to the vehicle, but no items were stolen.

Please be aware that between 1630hrs on Friday 30 August and 0845hrs on Saturday 31 August 2024 offender/s have gained entry to a Mercedes E220 motor vehicle that was parked at Stoneleigh Road, Kenilworth. An untidy search of the vehicle was made with several items being stolen.

Robbery & Attempted Burglary – Kenilworth

Robbery – Kenilworth

Help is requested in relation to a robbery that took place at approximately 0100hrs on Friday 23 August 2024. Approximately, four males wearing balaclavas smashed and damaged two offside windows and the windscreen of a Toyota Hilux motor vehicle that was parked at Essex Close, Kenilworth.

The owner of the motor vehicle was awoken by the noise of the vehicle windows being smashed and ran out of his property. The offenders were stealing a hedge trimmer and saw, and they threatened the vehicle owner with a crowbar and threatened to stab him.

Attempted Burglary – Kenilworth

Between 0350hrs and 0400hrs on Sunday 25 August 2024 an offender has tried to gain entry to retail premises at The Square, Kenilworth by pushing against glass door and forcing the door. This triggered the alarm causing the offender to make off in a direction unknown.

Sheep Rustling – Kenilworth

Warwickshire Police are appealing for people to come forward who may have seen/witnessed sheep being herded and loaded into transport in the general area of Farm Road and Rouncil Lane area of Kenilworth, this may include activity that walkers or riders may have seen taking place on or from the Bridleway that runs to Rouncil Lane from Castle Farm.

Some 69 lambs and 19 ewes have been stolen sometime between the Monday 12 August and Thursday 22 August 2024. As a result of the overall size of the flock the theft has only become apparent when the farmer attempted to pen the sheep up on Friday 23 August 2024.

Theft from Motor Vehicle – Kenilworth

Please be aware that between 1730hrs on Thursday 22 August and 0650hrs on Friday 23 August 2024 offenders have approached a white Ford Transit motor vehicle parked at Essex Close, Kenilworth and attempted to force the front offside door lock of the vehicle. The offenders have then cut a hole in the rear doors of the motor vehicle and gained entry to steal plastering equipment and tools.

Between 0915hrs and 0930hrs on Saturday 10 August 2024 offender/s have stolen the number plate from a blue BMW R125 motor cycle parked at Abbey End Car Park, Kenilworth.

At approximately 1000hrs on Saturday 10 August 2024 offender/s have prised open the doors on a Citroen Dispatch motor vehicle parked at Crewe Lane, Kenilworth and stolen a range of power tools.

Criminal Damage

Between 2230hrs on Sunday 11 August and 0050hrs on Monday 12 August 2024 offender/s have smashed the rear windscreen of a blue Audi Q7 motor vehicle which was parked at Leyes Lane, Kenilworth.

Theft from Motor Vehicle

Between 1700hrs on Sunday 11 August and 0900hrs on Monday 12 August 2024 offender/s have stolen the rear registration plate from a grey Tesla motor vehicle that was parked at Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth.

Keyless Vehicle Thefts – Kenilworth

As subscribers to Kenilworth Watch will know one of the crimes that we report with our crime alerts is the theft of motor vehicles in and around Kenilworth that have keyless entry system to which some criminals use interception techniques to foil and steal the vehicle, often from the private drive of the home where the vehicle owner lives.

While vehicle theft in Kenilworth has significantly fallen this year we believe it is foolish to be become complacent and there was a recent event the past 10 days where suspects were witnessed looking at and trying to steal a car from a private drive but who made off because they were disturbed.
