The latest reported crime in Kenilworth relates to garden items.

Kenilworth Watch News is appealing once again to residents to keep a high level of vigilance and report anything that appears to be suspicious capturing as much detail and information as possible but that is safe to do so.

We are also appealing to Warwickshire Police to increase the patrolling of Kenilworth by Police Officers. We support our two great Police Community Support Officers who do so much for the town but we want to see them get much more support with more police officers in and around Kenilworth to provide the deterrent needed to support those residents who are doing as much as they can to protect their homes, property and vehicles.

De Montford Road, Kenilworth

Please be aware that during the night of 23 into 24 January 2018, offenders stole two 2.5ft tall clay decorative chimney pots from the front garden of a home in De Montfort Road, Kenilworth.  The pots were very heavy and a vehicle would have been required to move them.

This latest crime report comes as an unusual attempted theft, that was thwarted by the vigilance of local villagers, took place earlier this week in the Warwickshire village of Birdingbury. At around 6pm on 23 January, offenders in a lorry displaying false number plates attempted to steal the original GPO telephone box from Main Street, Birdingbury.

Criminals continue to be active around Kenilworth with three incidents reported overt the last couple of days. Residents are advised to remain vigilant at all times and report anything that appears suspicious immediately using 999

Rouncil Lane. Kenilworth

Incident 249 of 21 January – At some point before 4.20pm on 21 January, offenders entered the rear garden of a home in Rouncil Lane, Kenilworth and cut the padlocks off the door of the garden shed.  Once inside, the offenders stole a can of petrol before making off. Incident 249 of 21 January 2018

Cherry Way, Kenilworth

Between 7.30 and 7.45pm on 22 January, offenders stole a round 18inch wide maroon coloured plant pot with a Greek patterns around the top from the front garden of a home in Cheery Way, Kenilworth. Incident 99 of 1 January 2018

Frythe Close, Kenilworth

During the night of 22 into 23 January, offenders stole 2 ball shaped, artificial topiary trees in crockery pots and with solar lights from a home in Frythe Close, Kenilworth. Incident 99 of 1 January 2018

CRIMINALS have struck again in Kenilworth, this time taking an number of Antique items and using the homeowners Pick Up truck by stealing it to make off with the stolen antiques. The incident happened at some point before 18.50hrs on 14 January 2018. Offenders broke into a home in Canterbury Close, Kenilworth and stole antique items along with the keys to a pick up truck.  The offenders then used the keys to steal the vehicle.

THE NEW YEAR of 2018 so far in Kenilworth has seen an increase in crime concerning vehicles. Two more incidents have been reported with one involving breaking and entering into a building before tampering and causing damage to a vehicle inside. A second incident involved the theft of a vehicle.

Kenilworth Watch News says this continued criminal activity only serves to reinforce the message about residents being vigilant and reporting anything they see suspicious and it renews its call for m ore Police Officer patrols to be undertaken across Kenilworth.

The details of the latest events are as follows:

Guy Road, Kenilworth

Between 5 and 8pm on 3 January, offenders broke into a garage at a home in Guy Road, Kenilworth after jemmying off the door lock.  Once inside, the offenders entered a van parked inside, causing damage to the vehicle.  It is not clear exactly what was stolen. This is Incident 403 of 3 January 2018

Manor Road, Kenilworth

Between 2pm on 2 January and 2pm on 4 January, offenders stole a black Ford Mondeo Titan vehicle from Manor Road, Kenilworth. This is Incident 255 of 4 January 2018

A burglary over the Christmas period at Inchbrook Road, Kenilworth has been followed by two Ford vehicles both being stolen from addresses elsewhere in the town overnight between the 2 and 3 January 2018.

Kenilworth Watch News says that this just reinforces the need for local people to remain vigilant and take all the steps they can to ensure property is secure and deterrents are in place. Kenilworth Watch News also said they would like to see much more visibility of Police Officers on patrol in and around our town to support the town’s two Police Community Support Officers and local residents as there is a limit to what individual householders can do. Regular police patrols gather intelligence and provide a deterrent, without them criminals are more emboldened because the likelihood of being caught is low.

Inchbrook Road, Kenilworth

Between 22 and 27 December, offenders broke into a home under renovation in Inchbrook Road, Kenilworth through an insecure rear door.  Once inside, the offenders stole building materials. Incident 93 of 2 January 2018

Henry Street, Kenilworth

During the night of 2 into 3 January, offenders stole a Ford vehicle from outside a home in Henry Street, Kenilworth after smashing the glass in the door.  The owner of the vehicle is still in possession of the keys. Incident 104 of 3 January 

Redfern Avenue, Kenilworth

During the night of 2 into 3 January, offenders stole a Ford Transit van from outside a home in Redfern Avenue, Kenilworth.  The owner of the vehicle still has the keys. Incident 114 of 3 January 2018
