Brazen Theft in Kenilworth – Saturday Night – Butler Close

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses after brazen thieves walked in through the unlocked front door of a home in Butler Close, Kenilworth and stole the car keys whilst the family was watching TV in another room. After stealing the keys, the thieves stole a grey Audi A3 saloon off the driveway outside.

The burglary occurred sometime between 6.15pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 14 January. Officers checked with neighbours to see if anyone had seen or heard the burglary and are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to please come forward.

This event highlights the need to keep doors secured even when you are in your home. Notwithstanding the loss of a vehicle, which is bad enough, criminals being able to walk into homes provides opportunities for a whole range of different crimes. So please make sure your home is secure whether you are at home or out and about.
