4 Kenilworth homes burgled in 4 Days

Crime continues to take place across Kenilworth with news that 4 homes have been burgled in the past 4 days. Most of the activity seems to have involved searching homes and taking valuable items such as jewellery.

Residents are advised to be vigilant and report anything or anyone acting suspiciously. Kenilworth Watch continues to express concern at the lack of visible policing across the town.

Berekley Road, Kenilworth

At some point before 5pm on 12 April, offenders broke into a home in Berkeley Road, Kenilworth through the rear patio door.  Once inside the house, the offenders carried out a very messy search before making off with numerous items of jewellery.

Villiers Road, Kenilworth

Between 12noon on 13 April and 9am on 14 April, offenders broke into a home in Villiers Road, Kenilworth through the rear kitchen window and carried out a messy search.  Several items were stolen.

At some point before 6pm on 14 April, offenders broke into another home in Villiers Road, Kenilworth, again through the rear kitchen window, and carried out a tidy search before making off with items of jewellery.

At some point before 8.45pm on 15 April, offenders broke into another home in Villiers Road and stole a box containing 7 watches and several pairs of cufflinks.

Car Key Burglary Confirmed

KENILWORTH residents are reminded to remain vigilant as news of a ‘car key burglary’ that took place just before 1am on the 27th March 2018 has been confirmed by Warwickshire Police. Offenders smashed a window to enter a home in Warwick Road, Kenilworth.  Once inside the house, the offenders carried out a search  before making off with the keys to a black BMW. The offenders then used the keys to steal the vehicle from outside.

Power Outages

‪Kenilworth POWER OUTAGE – Western Power Engineers have advised Kenilworth Watch News that they are investigating why power outages  in Kenilworth are happening. They advise there is a fault on the high voltage network affecting 12,000 properties. ‬

Burglary – Queens Road

A burglary has taken place in Queens Road, Kenilworth.

At some point between 3 and 11.30pm on 3 March, offenders broke into a home in Queens Road, Kenilworth through a side kitchen window.

Once inside the house, the offenders stole several items including a laptop computer.

Burglars wrench alarm off wall of Kenilworth Home

The force being used by criminals in Kenilworth has continued with two crimes being reported over the weekend in Kenilworth. At one address burglars wrenched a burglar alarm off the wall and despite the alarm continuing to sound entered the property ransacking rooms and taking several items of property.

The other crime involved power tools being stolen from a van. Both these events have heightened concern about burglaries in and around the town. While many residents have taken several steps to deter criminals there is mounting anxiety that a lack of police presence and an associated low likelihhood of being caught is leading to a more brazen attitude amongst offenders.

Leamington Road, Kenilworth

Between 10am and 4.30pm on 17 February, offenders broke into a home in Leamington Road, Kenilworth and activated the intruder alarm. The offenders pulled the alarm off the wall of the house and entered the premises but the alarm continued to sound. Once inside the house, the offenders carried out a very messy search before making off with several items. This is Incident 262 of 17 February 2018

Rouncil  Lane, Kenilworth

During the night of 16 into 17 February, offenders broke into a Citroen van, parked in a layby outside a home in Rouncil Lane, Kenilworth by smashing a small window and forcing open the rear doors. Chain saws, boots and drills were stolen from inside. This is Incident 102 of 17 February 2018
