Two Burglaries in Kenilworth this week

Warwickshire Police have advised that two Burglaries have taken place in recent days in Kenilworth.

Bullimore Grove, Kenilworth

Between midnight on 15 August and 3.45pm on 19 August, offenders entered the rear garden of a home in Bullimore Grove, Kenilworth and then kicked in the lower panel of the rear door into the house.

Once inside, the offenders carried out a search of all rooms, causing damage but nothing was stolen. The offenders also interfered with security devices, again causing damage.

Hyde Road, Kenilworth

Between 11.30am and 6.30pm on 21 August, offenders entered a home in Hyde Road, Kenilworth, possibly through an insecure front door. Once inside the house, the offenders stole a handbag from the lounge area before making off.

Public vigilance delivers arrest in Kenilworth

Station Road, Kenilworth

The quick actions of a member of the public has been praised by Kenilworth Watch News after an immediate phone call to police led to officers arresting a suspect during a break in. This is the sort of vigilance we need from local residents.

At  around 2.20 in the early hours of 9 August, the resident of a flat in Warwick House, Station Road, Kenilworth heard the noise of a window breaking in the flat below. The resident looked out of the window and saw a male climbing through the broken window and called Police Officers.

Police officers arrived at the flat and located and arrested the offender at the scene.

Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth

Meanwhile an attempt at a break in has been reported at a property in Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth.  Between 9am on 4 August and 4pm on 6 August, offenders attempted to force open the front door of a home in Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth. The offenders caused damage to the door but failed to get inside the house and nothing was stolen.

Both incidents reinforce the continued need for vigilance and the benefit of acting quickly by reporting things that are suspicious.

Grange Avenue is latest Car Key Burglary

Grange Avenue is the latest location in Kenilworth to suffer from thieves who break into homes to steal a vehicle nearby.

Between 9.30am and 11.15am on 1 August, a male offender entered the driveway of a home in Grange Avenue, Kenilworth and then attempted to force open the wooden French doors at the house, causing damage. The offender failed to get the door open so smashed a large pane of glass in one of the doors.

Once inside the house, the offender entered the hallway and kitchen and then stole a set of keys to a VW Golf vehicle.

The offender then stole the vehicle from the driveway and made off towards Coventry. The offender is described a medium built male wearing a blue baseball cap and a red and black jacket.

3 Vehicles across Kenilworth stolen in one night

Concerns about the nature and the level of crime affecting Kenilworth is growing are likely to be fuelled by the latest Crime Alerts just issued by Warwickshire Police.

3 vehicles have been stolen across the town in one night and these latest vehicle theft crimes have not involved breaking into homes to gain access to vehicle keys.  The thefts have  involved commercial vehicles, 2 Ford Transit vans, with a third being an Audi saloon.

The details are as follows:

Tisdale Rise, Kenilworth

Between midnight and 5am, offenders stole a silver Ford Transit van parked outside a home in Tisdale Rise, Kenilworth. (Incident 56 of 20 July)

Holmewood Close, Kenilworth

During the night, offenders stole a silver Audi vehicle parked on the driveway of a home in Holmewood Close, Kenilworth. (Incident 84 of 20 July)

Suncliffe Drive, Kenilworth

During the same night, offenders stole a black Ford Transit van which was parked outside a home in Suncliffe Drive, Kenilworth. (Incident 43 of 20 July)

Summer Burglaries continue in Kenilworth

Two more burglaries have taken place in Kenilworth over the last couple of days prompting us to advise that everyone needs to keep a keen lookout for suspicious persons and/or vehicles who may be loitering in and around streets across the town.

Residents are encouraged to report any such suspicious activity immediately to Police on 101

The latest events are as follows:

Priory Road, Kenilworth

Between 18.00hrs on 9 July and 14.00hrs on 10 July, offenders broke the lock on the rear French doors of a home in Priory Road, Kenilworth and entered the house, whilst the residents were at home.

Nothing appears to have been stolen.

Oaks Road, Kenilworth

Between 12.15hrs and 17.30hrs on 10 July, offenders entered a home in Oaks Road, Kenilworth and carried out a search of drawers and cupboards in the lounge, kitchen and bedrooms, moving items within the property.

The offenders made off with a quantity of cash and a written cheque.

Fieldgate Lane, Kenilworth 

At some point before 11.00hrs on 10 July, offenders stole the spare wheel from under a Land Rover Discovery vehicle parked outside a home in Fieldgate Lane, Kenilworth.
